The Difference Between Lvl And Plywood

The difference between lvl and plywood

The main difference is that the thickness of the veneer for lvl is relatively large, generally more than 3 mm; blank. lvl is mainly aimed at replacing sawn timber, emphasizing the enhancement of the longitudinal mechanical properties of the product, highlighting the anisotropy of wood, while plywood is the transformation of the anisotropy of natural wood, emphasizing is isotropic.

lvl paving is different from plywood:

1) The veneer of lvl must pay attention to the front and back, and it must be back-to-back and face-to-face when paving, otherwise the deformation problem of lvl cannot be solved; 2) The strength of the veneer should be properly sorted, with high strength When the veneer is paved, it is placed on the surface layer, and the weaker veneer is placed on the core layer. Only in this way can the overall performance of the veneer laminate be ensured; 3) The veneer laminate is paved along the grain, and the veneer runs along the longitudinal direction. 4) The joints of veneer miter joints should be staggered according to certain interval requirements in turn, which is not the requirement of appearance quality, but the requirement of uniform strength.

The hot pressing of veneer is different from that of plywood

Due to the large size of structural materials, it is difficult to use multi-layer and large-format presses similar to plywood, but the output of single-layer presses is low, and its length cannot be extended indefinitely due to cost problems. Considering the above factors, when it is required to increase the output, it is more reasonable to use a double-layer, three-layer or four-layer press for the production of veneer laminates. Another problem in the production of structural veneer laminates is the length of the press. [1-2] Insufficient product length.
